On December 2, the 2009 Viral Film Festival took place in Paris, France, and we now have the pleasure of announcing the winners. A jury consisting of agency representatives, advertisers, and bloggers chose the best viral videos in 8 categories out of over 1,000 videos submitted.
Here is the list of winners:
1. Young Award: McDonald’s - “Come as you are” (Duke Interactive ABS)
2. Music Award: “O Barack - La chanson du dimanche” (La pèche production)
3. UGC Award (reserved for independent authors): “Le Flamby” (Sébastien Carreau)
4. Extreme Award: La Poste - “Transformer” (Euro RSCG C&O)
5. Efficient Award: Evian - “Baby Break Dance” (BETC4D Euro RSCG)
6. Woman Award: Canal+ - “Versailles” (BETC4D Euro RSCG)
7. Sexy Award: “The Candle” (BDDP Unlimited)
8. Jury Grand Prize (all categories included): Heineken - “Walk-In Fridge” (TBWA)
A big thanks to the jury, the sponsors, and the participants, and congratulations to all the winners! There are of course a few things that could an be improved for next year (a larger selection of videos, shorter waiting time at the entrance, …) but in the end we all had a great time, with no less than 900 people showing up for the festival and the party. See you all in 2010 for the next Viral Film Festival!
